Hi there,
My name is Frank, I live on the East coast of the UK with my wife Carol and a whippet called Winnie.
I’m 65, and for many years have suffered with intermittent back pain. Sometimes quite severe.
I can’t say for sure, but I believe it all started when I was 21. I was what they used to call a travelling salesman in those days. Travelling all over East Anglia selling commercial stationery products to retailers.
Anyway, to stop this turning into a bit of a ramble, one day I had a puncture and needed to change a wheel. The design of the Cortina I was driving at the time meant that to get the spare wheel out I had to lean into the boot (trunk), where it was kept under the floor, and lift it out and over about a ten inch lip.
A design calculated to put your back out if ever there was one. Maybe I should have sued Ford, I bet it would have worked these days! Well that’s what started it, and as I say it’s been a bad back for me ever since.
Over the years Doctors have hummed and hahed (never know how to spell that), changed their minds, but never really done much except offer me pain-killers.
As time went on I learnt to live with it, as I said it is intermittent. I can go months with it being fine, then something as simple as getting in or out of the bath will set it off.
Now retired, and with the wonders of the internet, I spend a lot of time researching back pain. I’ve found lots of helpful stuff so thought I would set up this site and share. I hope you find it useful.
Best wishes,
Frank
